Walk across the bridge and leave your other world behind as you enter the theatre at Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Park in Bismarck, N.D. Situated on about 40 acres of open and wooded natural prairie, this physical site features a natural amphitheatre and beautiful natural surroundings.
This outdoor environment easily promotes creativity as well as appreciation of nature in all its glory. There are no age restrictions for attendees, as young children are often enthralled with the show or may be calmed by moving to the back. SHST involves and appeals to the entire family, regardless of age. Children 5 and under are always free.
Production shows begin at 8:30 nightly, when the heat of the day has passed and the sun is setting behind the trees. Situated as we are at the west end of the Central Time Zone, darkness does not fall until 10:30-11 p.m.
Three stages compliment the area, with Sleepy Hollow’s Broadway productions presented on the largest, centrally located stage. Both open and reserved seating are available with access to the area beginning at 7 p.m. during production nights. People may rent chairs for $1.50 or bring their own chairs. The first three rows are blanket seating only.
The theatre site and classroom space at Century High School are accessible to people with disabilities.
